Foie gras, or "fatty liver" pâté, is a product that results from the force-feeding of ducks and geese until their livers become large and swollen.
Scientific evidence gathered by vets and experts clearly show that foie gras production is not only cruel, but is also against current European Union food regulations. Besides being forced-fed each day, these animals are crammed in tiny cages, with literally no space. Such treatment violates recommandations made by the Council of Europe.
European authorities must act to put a stop to all of this! Foie gras should be outlawed in the entire European Union. Ask the European Commission and EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council to take a stand and denounce foie gras!
