It is my deep belief that Great Britain should take a step forward and award legendary boxer the title of Honorary Knighthood.
Ali is, without doubt, one of the greatest sportsmen in history. Who doesn’t remember his magnificent encounters with George Foreman or Joe Frazier? He is a true hero, with an impeccable reputation on and off the boxing ring. After retiring from professional sports, he has dedicated his full resources into tackling important issues such as poverty and discrimination. He has undergone numerous visits in the United Kingdom to promote his humanitarian efforts.
What exactly is a Honorary Knighthood? Such awards are handed out to recognize non-British citizens who have managed to accomplish important achievements to the United Kingdom and its well-being.
Muhammad Ali fits perfectly into this description and I believe his superb efforts should be honored appropriately. No Muslim has ever received this prestigious distinction, so awarding this title to Ali would also mean a huge step for UK when it comes to recognizing diversity and cross-cultures.
David Cameron, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has the power to make this happen. I realize that he is currently engaged in what seem to be more urgent matters – such as the referendum to stay in the European Union which is due to be held this June – but the United Kingdom has the moral duty not to forget about the people that did good and helped this great nation at the time when it needed most.
Please support my campaign and sign the petition to win the wonderful Muhammad Ali an Honorary Knighthood in the UK. There is no question he deserves it. Together we can make a difference! Sign below and take action today!
Thank you so much for your involvement in this case.
